Lauren was born in the suburbs of Chicago, but grew up in Carmel, Indiana. She graduated from Carmel High School in 2006 as a member of Quill and Scroll, an international scholastic journalism honor society. Growing up, Lauren was a swimmer for the Carmel Aquatics Club, and she also swam for the lady greyhounds during high school. Lauren went on to attend Purdue University where she earned a B.S. in Economics in 2010. Following college, Lauren spent a year working for an employee benefits consulting company.
In 2011, Lauren began her legal profession at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she spent two years as a Certified Legal Intern with the Health and Human Rights Legal Clinic. She also served as a board member for both the Client Counseling Competition and Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. During law school, Lauren received a Resident Merit Scholarship and the Norman Lefstein Award for Excellence Gold for her pro bono work.
After law school, Lauren worked as law clerk on the north side of Indianapolis until she was sworn in to the Indiana State Bar and the bars for the Northern District and Southern District of Indiana. Lauren joined Hume Smith in September of 2016, and she concentrates her practice in litigation. She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, Indianapolis Bar Association, and Hamilton County Bar Association.
At this time, Lauren resides in Carmel. She is a volunteer attorney for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, and she worships at Advent Lutheran Church in Zionsville; where she teaches Sunday school. In her free time, she spends time with friends and family, reading, and volunteering with various community organizations.
