Michael Bain concentrates his practice on personal injury, property damage, insurance coverage, construction litigation, and criminal defense. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Indiana University in 1991, and later graduated from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis in 1994. While in law school, Mike became a member of the Order of the Barristers and served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court Society.

In law school and after graduation, Mike served a Deputy Prosecutor with the Hendricks County Prosecutor's Office. He was assigned to the Hendricks Circuit Court and Plainfield Town Court where he prosecuted traffic, misdemeanor, felony, and juvenile offenses. Since 1997, he has been in private practice working in a variety of areas including civil and criminal litigation, estate planning, and family law. Mike has represented clients in numerous appeals before the Indiana Court of Appeals including the often cited Ransburg v. Richards, 770 N.E.2d 393 (Ind. Ct. App. 2002). He joined Hume Smith Geddes Green & Simmons, LLP in 2002.

Mike is licensed to practice before the Indiana Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Indiana Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, the Defense Research Institute, Inc., and the Indianapolis Law Club. He has also achieved an “AV Preeminent 5.0” designation, the highest rating attainable, in Martindale-Hubbell, a widely-known and nationally recognized publication which polls the performance of attorneys throughout the United States. Since 2012, Mike has been selected by his peers as an Indiana Super-Lawyer, an honor awarded to only 5% of the practicing attorneys in Indiana.  Lastly, Mike served as an editor for the 2015 edition of A.M. Best Digest of Indiana Insurance Law, a much respected publication in the insurance industry.  

He and his wife, Bridget, have three children and live in Indianapolis where they are active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary church and school. Being one of four Eagle Scouts in the firm, Mike is the past chairman for the Crossroads of America Council Gathering of the Eagles Dinner and scholarship committee for 2008 and 2009.  Lastly, Mike holds a Women's Game Level 1 Coach Certification through US Lacrosse.  He enjoys coaching his daughters and their youth teams, Catholic Lacrosse of Indianapolis Saints.
