Chris Cody began practicing law with Hume Smith Geddes Green & Simmons in July 2004 and became a partner with the firm in January 2010. Chris focuses his legal practice on civil litigation, with specific experience in civil rights law, automobile and trucking liability, municipal liability, insurance coverage, and homeowners association law. Chris has successfully represented clients in jury trials before the United States District Courts and Indiana State Courts. He has also successfully represented clients in appeals to the Indiana Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Indiana Supreme Court.
Chris has the honor of serving on the Local Rules Committee for the Southern District of Indiana and is enrolled in the Indianapolis Bar Association Bar Leader Series. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association.
Chris received his bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University in 2000, with majors in economics and philosophy. While at Wake Forest Chris was a member of the men's varsity track and field and cross country teams. He graduated from Indiana University - Indianapolis School of Law in 2003. Chris was a member of the Order of Barristers and represented the University in the Saul Lefkowitz and Health Law Moot Court competitions.
Chris and his wife Jenina have a daughter, a labrador retriever, and live in Avon, Indiana. They are members of Kingsway Christian Church. Chris coaches for the Westside United soccer academy and is also a rabid Colts and Demon Deacons fan.
